They haul the sap-filled buckets to the tractor, skim the foam from the liquid being distilled in the sugarhouse and - best of all - savor the delicious syrup drizzled over fresh snow. Nan Rossiter's beautiful illustrations are infused with the light of early spring and with her fondness for the people and places of New England in this quiet tribute to teamwork on a small family farm.
