Jeffersonian Rain Gauge
The first mechanical rain gauge of its kind. Measures up to 5" of rain in 1/5" increments using a float and lever to mechanically exaggerate the readings and improve accuracy and visibility. The gauge will turn into the wind to ensure the most accurate measurement or can be tightened down to fix its location. The body is solid brass and the pointer is stainless steel for contrast. Includes two connectible brass rods and a pressure treated wooden stake for ground installation. This brass rain gauge can be placed far enough from the "rain shadow" of your house to get accurate readings, yet be visible to read from inside. As the water rises, the patent pending cylindrical glass vial acts as a magnifying lens making the cobalt blue numbers 50% larger. Designed (and guaranteed for life) by Vermont based Conant Brass.
