Lobster Buoys
aka Lobster Trap Buoys or Lobster Pot Buoys
Our lobster buoys are hand-painted, decorative, wooden replicas of
the buoys used in the past by lobstermen on the Maine
Coast and in the Canadian Maritimes. Today, most lobster
buoys are made of Styrofoam. Old wooden buoys are now considered
antiques and sell for as much as $50 to $100 or
more. Our buoys look and
feel old, rustic and weathered, but they are actually
brand new. And they cost only $15.00 plus $5.75 for shipping.
All of the buoys on this page are unique and one of a
kind. We hand picked each of them at a woodworking shop
on the New Hampshire seacoast. They vary in size with an
average length of 15" to 17" and an average width of 4"
to 4-3/4". When you click on an Add
to Cart button you are purchasing the exact buoy
shown. Buoys marked
"Large"
are
longer and/or wider. They're $7.00 more plus an extra $2.00 for
shipping. Each buoy comes with a loop
of nautical rope for hanging and ID numbers and/or
letters etched
onto it. Lobstermen use unique color schemes to be able
to spot their buoys out on the water and ID numbers in
case of a dispute. Actual buoy colors may vary slightly from their
digital images.
